A conversation that wasn’t planned, a table where you’re truly welcomed, a place that doesn’t feel made for tourists. It is the people behind the journey that make these experiences unforgettable.
That’s also how we work. We’ve chosen to stay small, and that’s intentional. It allows us to experience every moment firsthand, keep things personal, and take the time to get everything right. We don’t rush the process, and we don’t add something just because it looks appealing on paper. If it’s part of a journey, it’s because we believe in it.

Immersive Journeys was created by Guilherme Miguez, someone who has always travelled with curiosity rather than a checklist.
The people behind the journeys have shaped his travels. He’s been to more than 40 countries, but what stayed with him weren’t the famous landmarks. It was the quieter moments — the kind you don’t plan. Conversations that last longer than expected, meals that turn into evenings, places you only find because someone local told you about them.
Before starting Immersive Journeys, Guilherme spent over two and a half years travelling across Portugal. Slowly, without rushing, and with time to really get to know the country. Not just where to go, but who to meet.
Along the way, he built relationships with people who are deeply connected to what they do — winemakers who still work their vineyards by hand, chefs who cook from instinct and memory, artisans who have spent a lifetime perfecting their craft. These are not staged experiences. They are part of real lives, and being welcomed into them is what makes the difference.
What we offer today comes directly from that time. From being there, from knowing people personally, and from understanding what actually makes an experience feel special — not just look special.
The idea has always been simple: to create journeys that feel natural, unforced, and genuinely personal. Experiences that unfold at the right pace, with the right people, and leave you with something deeper than just memories.

People behind the journeys like Cidália Soares make all the difference. She has been a licensed tour guide since 2016 and is based in Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. She guides throughout the Alentejo, a region she knows very well and cares a lot about.
She studied languages and literature and worked as a high school teacher for 15 years. Later on, she decided to follow a different path, driven by her interest in history and in the culture and heritage of Portugal.
When guiding, Cidália keeps things simple and genuine. She wants people to feel at ease, to be curious, and to enjoy things at their own pace—not like they’re following a script. People behind the journeys like Cidália care deeply about connecting with each group, and she constantly tries to make the experience feel personal and genuine.“I just hope people enjoy their time here and take something real with them.”

Sérgio brings a deep and personal understanding of Portugal to every journey.
People behind the journeys, like Sérgio, bring experiences to life. His professional experience includes coordinating the Tourism Action and Promotion team for the municipality of Campo Maior, where he was responsible for creating meaningful connections between visitors and the region’s culture and heritage.
Certified as a National Interpreter Guide through SNATTI, Sérgio brings both expertise and passion to his work. With him, travelers do not just visit places—they experience them fully, with stories, context, and insights that reveal the heart of each destination.
